It is just this landing page that is getting a face lift.
I’d like to proudly announce that Rodville is now becoming an administrator. He is here all the time, constantly working on the site in one manner or another, and deserves the title. He contributions include excellent moderation, the “skin initiative” (making this site look as good as the info and conversations) as well as many things that he ninjas in when we are not looking. Please welcome him into his new role as only hamsters can!
Fellow hamsters please join me in giving a warm Soul hamsters welcome to our latest Hamster promoted to Moderator chevy2guy. He likes this place because it has “that whole family vibe”. We love him because he access to some information that others don’t . He brings long term experience and automotive knowledge to the table. So feel free to pick his brain.
For our members only, Steve Conley is hooking us up again with a great deal.
These headers are going to retail for $454 plus shipping each, but for members of SoulHamsters.com ONLY…
$375 plus shipping.
If you don’t know what a header is, or why you would want it, please use the search function at the top right of the page and search for HEADER, and then read read read.
We are looking at about 3 weeks for them to be finished being produced and shipped. Times can change a bit, but right now we are looking at 3 weeks.
Other headers do NOT compare to these. These headers are CERAMIC COATED, usually costing an extra $150 or so to get done. These will NOT discolor like other headers will when you install them, and ceramic coating will help keep heat in the exhaust, and out of your engine bay.
These headers gave NO Check Engine Light while in testing, and unlike most other headers out there, require no modification to install, direct BOLT ON.
Ok just got off the phone with DTH and they finished Dyno runs. He will probably be on later to share more detailed info. So far with my stock intake and exhaust, he said +11hp and +12ft Lbs at peak and around +12hp and +15ft lbs around 4k rpm.
Just finished up the header/connector yesterday afternoon and wanted to share some info about it with you guys/gals. Thanks Shawn for the use of your Soul!!!
First, some facts…
1 5/8″ primaries / 1 3/4″ secondaries / 2 1/4″ collector, Tri-y configuration (4-2-1) primary tube deviation avg. = .625″ Connector pipe o.d. = 2 1/4″ double mesh flex tube built in o2 emulator for secondary sensor. No CEL so far with around 40 dyno runs. The head flanges are .375″ thick and the header will be designed to work with Kia’s SS Shim gaskets (they last forever!) Ceramic coating will be standard
The install is deceptively simple so even the greatest of novice’s can perform this swap in under two hours.
Here are some pics of the header / connector. Please bare in mind that these pics are of the prototype and in no way reflect the beauty of a production part.

As you can see, the tubes are really close to being equal.
Here is the dyno results from yesterday. Shawn’s car is completely stock.
Your looking at a 15 ft. lb. increase in torque (13.8%) and 13 HP (11.7%).
All tests were conducted using our Dynojet 248c chassis dyno. I did manage to get some footage of a couple runs so you guys can hear what it sounds like. Surprisingly, it is still extremely quiet.
Okay guys/gals. Here is the video of Shawn’s car on the dyno. The noises you hear in the back ground are the machinery from production. Overall, the sound did not change much and it still sounds reasonably tame at an idle. Enjoy.
Hmmm. it doesn’t seem to want to embed the video. lol
The tooling is done on the header/connector. We are still in the process of drawing the parts, assembling the B.O.M., and quoting the part. We are in the home stretch now and soon we will begin the first wave of production parts .
You can get a little info here about the new header…
Yes, these numbers were WITHOUT the axle back. Shawn’s car was completely stock at that point.
IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, READ THE DEVELOPMENT THREAD AND POST IN THERE UNLESS THEY ARE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE GROUP BUY PROCESS.
Keep in mind, the prototype in the pictures here is NOT ceramic coated, the final headers will have a finish like this.
Lastly, the sale information.
1. There are 17 sets being produced for this group buy initially, more may be added, but as of now it is 17 sets. 2. There are 15 sets available for purchase.
