Hyundai Think Tank is an official site by Hyundai, where members get an inside early look at new cars, talk with the designers/developers/and even the head honcho of Hyundai USA. You get to win stuff, help name new products from cars to technology, and win trips to auto shows.

I’m posting this because they’ve only looked for new members ONCE. When they opened. Now here we are, years later, and they need some new members. I’m not kidding you when I say they only had around 1600 members total.

Its our time to expand that.

Okay, since the 2014 Soul is going to be a redesign, and probably have a new chassis code if it goes anything like historical Hyundai and Kia models go, we need to get this set. Kia and Hyundai usually go by a set schedule. 2 to 3 years of one model, then a facelift, then 2 to 3 years, then a redesign.

Here’s an example.

1997-1999 Tiburon. Same body style, mostly the same inside and out. RD was the chassis code (in the US). Beta 1 engine, 1.6 and 2.0L

2000-2001 Tiburon. Facelift, new interior parts, from seats to dashboard, new hood, new bumpers, new taillights and headlights. Still RD chassis code. 2.0L Beta 1 engine.

2003-2004 Tiburon. Major change, Beta 2 and 2.5 engine. Completely different frame, completely different exterior, interior, everything was different. GK chassis code.

2005-2006 Tiburon Facelift, minor interior and exterior differences. Switch from MAF to MAP if I remember right.

2007-2008 Tiburon Facelift. More striking exterior and interior changes.

The 97-99 was referred to as the RD1

The 00-01 was referred to as the RD2

The 2003-2004 was referred to as the GK

The 2005-2006 was referred to as the GK FL1

The 2007-2008 was referred to as teh GK FL2

So, with all of this in mind, I say we set this up for the Soul.

GEN 1

We are going to do things a little differently this year. We will have a ROTM and a POTM. That way people who dont have many mods on their car but they do take BEAUTIFUL pictures can submit!

Every Member who wins will have their own page on the 2013 SoulHamsters Calendar!!!

So the 5th month is ROTM!!!!!

When posting your submission please include the following.

* The year and trim package of the Soul.
* A list of modifications you have done to the car, if any.
* High Quality – 5MP minimum pictures of the front, back, Engine and interior of the Soul. Also please do not edit or photoshop your photos unless you wish to block out your plate.

The May 2012 submissions will be open until May 21st 2012. After the finalists have been decided a poll will be posted for you the community to decide on our May 2012 Featured Ride.

The time has come for us to rally behind one of our members and show them they are not alone in their time of trouble. I dont want to divulge too much of his business, but to sumarize the issue, Rodville has fallen on hard times and is about to lose his house. So we have started a fundraiser/donation to raise the money he needs to save his house. So, we ask that everyone please if you can, help out by donating whatever you can… we need to raise $2,854!!

This is a How-To on Using the Search Feature. To those of who who may not know, or just feel overwhelmed with the Search feature, this How-To should help you navigate Searching the Forums with ease!

I found this easiest way to Search the Forums, and to get the best and most accurate results is by accessing the “Advanced Search” Menu. You can access this by simply clicking the magnifying glass on the right side of your screen, above your “Member Info”, as depicted in the following screen shot.

Once you have accessed this “Advanced” feature, start off by typing what you are searching for. Please note, that by adding quotation marks around the topic or phrase, the search feature will then search specifically for that phrase.

Once you have typed what you are looking for into the box, you can then scroll down and utilize a few more tools….
The key options here to note are: MATCH, SEARCH IN SECTION and FIND IN FORUMS

Once you have made your choices, I highly recommend using the FIND IN FORUMS option. This will allow you to select a specific Section or Sub-Forum to apply your search to. Also note that you can also select multiple Forums or Sub-Forums by holding the CTRL key on your keyboard while selecting each one with your left mouse button.

Once you are all done, just simply click “Search” at the bottom.
this will take you to a new screen where all the result will be displayed. They will be displayed according to how to chose to have them displayed on the previous screen.
